Eating Healthy 101


I can't believe it's actually happened. I wrote my first book! "Eating Healthy 101: A book about basic nutrition and meal prep recipes". It was challenging and a true test of patience and willpower to get through some of the toughest parts of it but I am so proud of myself. I used Bookwright, a program offered through Blurb.com which is where my book is up for sale!!! YAY!!! I put all this really awesome info and recipes together just for you!

I published it a couple weeks ago now and am just now getting to write a post on my blog about it due to the holidays and having a cold. It's really important to me to spend the holidays focusing on family time, even though I was wrapping up the last few things on my book, once I published it (the 21st) I focused much of my time on doing Christmas-y things with the kids.

I want to explain what my book is. It is 75 pages of not just information, tips and meanings of basic nutrition information, but there are 17 super easy recipes that I make myself and love.

I explain what eating healthy is to me; I explain in depth but in ways that people can understand, what macro-nutrients are and why each one is important. I also give a list of plant based foods for each macro-nutrients. Each recipe is plant based and vegan friendly but can so easily be altered to have actual meat if you are a meat eater. No judgment here. I break down how to determine what amount of macros you yourself should be eating and I have some ideas on how to minimize your kitchen gear, kitchen tricks, and a pantry staples lists.

I wrote this book with my younger sister in mind. She wanted a way to make healthy meals for her family. She has two little ones and she has a busy life. She would ask me a lot of questions regarding nutrition when she was pregnant and as the kids grow she continues to ask me for advice. I really felt like if I could help her with this kind of information then I might be helping a lot of people.

To me nutrition is fascinating for me to read about and understand but I noticed that it can be confusing to the general public who gets a lot of misinformation from tv commercials, magazines and social media on fad diets and trends. I really hope you get a chance to order my book and I really want it to inspire you to want to eat healthier. My meal prep recipes make it so easy to have healthy food options to take to work and have on hand at home, for those busy stay at home parents.
